Working with us
We work closely with a variety of organisations and community groups to help facilitate effective rehabilitation of our prisoners. This includes arranging work placements for enhanced status prisoners to prepare them for release.

Prisoners who qualify for this privilege are subject to a thorough risk assessment to ensure their suitability for the scheme.
- We are always on the look-out for new RoTL opportunities to both strengthen links with the local community and maximise the rehabilitative support we can offer to prisoners.

Official Prison Visitor (OPV) volunteer
You can volunteer to become an Official Prison Visitor (OPV), providing support to residents who do not have any friends or family able to visit them in custody.
OPVs offer a friendly relationship to those they visit and provide regular contact which is sympathetic and sensible, but independent of the prison and its staff.
Confidences about family, past behaviour and prison life remain between the OPV and the resident, however OPVs must report any threat or security risks to staff, fellow residents or the prison that may arise from any conversations. OPVs provide a link to the wider community, ensuring that the resident knows that they have not been forgotten.
